Artist Statement:

I begin my work by mark making on a canvas without any preliminary image in mind. This approach stems from my wish to explore how a series of brushstrokes is able to convey past experiences, inner feelings, a state of mind.

By combining the emotion that images in figurative painting trigger, with the expression of a more impulsive abstract art, I strive to intensify painting’s magical power of expressing deep emotions without letting these be too literal and obvious.
